FAQs

WORKSHOPS

Where do the wood blocks come from?

They are Fairtrade and carved by hand in India. They're made from a very hard dense wood called Sheesham wood.

I haven't done any art before - can I do a workshop? I'm not creative!

Yes absolutely you can (and we think everyone is creative). Wood block printing is very accessible to all, your tutor will tell you everything you need to know.

How does the paint stick to the fabric?

The paint is made permanent by heat, so items need to be ironed after the workshop.

Do you sell wood blocks or kits?

Not at the moment, but we offer a 5% discount off equipment and supplies from The Indian Block Print Co. for all workshop participants.

Are the workshops sustainable?

Yes, we have sourced organic or sustainable materials for printing on. The paint is water based and biodegradable. The wood blocks can be used hundreds of times.

Are the workshops suitable for disabled people?

It very much depends on the nature of your disability. Please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Do you host private or corporate workshops?

Yes we can, please contact us for more information.

Do you do workshops for children?

Not at the moment

PRODUCTS

Where do you get your designs from?

All our designs are illustrated by us either by hand or using a computer programme such as Adobe Illustrator. Every element is original and subject to copyright.

Where are the cushion covers and tea towels made?

The covers are made in the UK because we believe in reducing carbon footprints and supporting home grown small businesses.

All our cushion cover fabrics come from a cotton supply chain which is monitored by SEDEX and OEKO-TEX certification. This means the environmental impact of processes and the conditions of workers are checked to make sure they are fair and legal.

For more on manufacturing, please see our Sustainability and Ethics Statement.

What is in the cushion inner pads?

The pads are 100% responsibly sourced duck feather from Europe, which complies with the IDFL Down Standard. This ensures proper treatment of birds and no live plucking.

The pads also confirm to Standard 100 OEKO-TEX which means they don't contain chemicals harmful to humans.

Where are the Jesmonite products made?

These are all made in our studios in London and Wiltshire by hand.

Are the Jesmonite candlesticks tested for fire safety?

Yes all the materials have been tested according to British Standards and have technical data sheets.

Where are the greetings cards made?

In the UK.

Do you send out samples?

We can send out samples for the cushions if there are enough in stock. You can return your goods if they are not the right colour, by re-using the envelope or box they came in.

When will an item be back in stock? Can I pre-order?

We will try to indicate on the product page when it is likely to be back in. This will enable you to make a pre-order if you wish. Products are then sent out in the date order in which they were purchased.

Do you sell your products anywhere else?

We sell online through this website and through various stockists. Occasionally we'll be at local fairs so check our events page. If we are going to be at an event we will announce it via social media.

Can I send products as gifts?

Yes, just choose a different delivery address, however, we don’t provide any special gift wrapping beyond white tissue paper.
